AI Transparency Notice

In accordance with the EU AI Act and our commitment to responsible AI, this notice explains how artificial intelligence is used within Chatio Observatory™, what it can and cannot do, and how human oversight is maintained.

1. How AI Is Used

Chatio Observatory™ uses AI to: • Process and analyse large volumes of publicly available text data • Detect patterns, trends and emerging signals in global information flows • Generate analytical summaries and scoring outputs • Retrieve relevant context through vector search (RAG) The platform does not use AI to make decisions about individuals.

2. AI Risk Classification

Under the EU AI Act, Chatio Observatory™ is positioned as a general-purpose analytical tool. It does not fall within the high-risk categories defined in Annex III of the EU AI Act. It is not used for: • Biometric identification • Critical infrastructure management • Employment decisions • Access to essential services • Law enforcement • Migration or asylum decisions

3. What AI Cannot Do

Our AI systems: • Cannot predict the future with certainty • May produce errors, hallucinations or outdated information • Do not have access to private or confidential data • Cannot replace expert human judgment • May reflect biases present in public training data All outputs should be treated as analytical starting points, not definitive conclusions.

4. Human Oversight

Human oversight is maintained through: • Review processes for sensitive or high-impact outputs • Safety filters for potentially harmful content • Regular audits of output quality and accuracy • Clear escalation paths for contested outputs • An internal AI literacy programme for all staff

5. Prohibited Practices

Chatio Observatory™ does not and will not: • Use subliminal or manipulative AI techniques • Exploit vulnerabilities of specific groups • Perform social scoring of individuals • Use real-time biometric identification • Deploy AI for purposes that violate fundamental rights

6. Transparency on Recommendations

Where the platform displays ranked results, trend scores or signal priorities, the main parameters used in the ranking are explained within the interface. Users can understand why a signal or trend has been highlighted.
